ST JOSEPH'S CAREER EDGE

Rules & Regulations

"Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment." — Jim Rohn

At St. Joseph's Career Edge, we maintain a positive, professional, and supportive learning environment. As a residential training institute run under the Jesuit tradition, we emphasize mutual respect, integrity, and dedication to personal growth. All students are required to adhere to the following rules and regulations during the program.

1. General Conduct

  • Respect and Inclusivity: Show respect to faculty, staff, hostel wardens, and fellow students. Any form of discrimination, bullying, or harassment is strictly prohibited.
  • Professionalism: Dress code is business casual during class hours and official events. Formal attire is required for presentations and mock interviews.
  • Language Policy: To improve communication skillsets, students are required to speak English inside the training area and encourage its use in residential spaces.

2. Residential & Hostel Rules

  • Curfew Hours: For safety reasons, students must be back inside the hostel premises by 9:00 PM. No student is allowed to leave campus after curfew without prior written permission from the Director.
  • Room Maintenance: Keep hostel rooms, bathrooms, and common areas clean. Room inspections are conducted weekly by the hostel warden.
  • Visitors Policy: Outside visitors, including family members, are allowed only in the designated visitors' lounge during visiting hours (Saturday & Sunday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM) and are not permitted inside hostel rooms.

3. Academic & Attendance Policy

  • Mandatory Attendance: 100% attendance is expected in all sessions, classes, and lab hours. A minimum of 90% attendance is mandatory to qualify for final placements and certification.
  • Punctuality: Arrive at least 5 minutes before the start of each session. Latecomers will not be permitted to join sessions and will be marked absent.
  • Integrity: Plagiarism, cheating in evaluations, or falsifying project data will lead to immediate disciplinary action, including potential termination from the program.

4. Campus Care & Discipline

  • Property Care: Treat all center property, computers, books, and lab equipment with care. Damage caused to property due to negligence will be recovered from the responsible students.
  • Prohibited Substances: St. Joseph's Outreach Centre is a tobacco-free, alcohol-free, and drug-free campus. Possession or consumption of any illegal substances will lead to immediate expulsion.
  • Environmentally Friendly: Conserve water and electricity. Switch off fans, lights, and computers when leaving rooms or labs. Dispose of waste only in designated bins.
Non-Compliance Notice: Regular violations of these guidelines, or any action that damages the reputation of the Bangalore Jesuit Educational Society (BJES) and Career Edge, will result in review by the Disciplinary Committee, which can result in suspension or termination of admission.
